18 & East Dress c/o Stylistpick * / ASOS Cardigan / Stylistpick Studded ‘Avery’ Sneakers * / Stylistpick Pouch *
I’ve always had a soft spot for sneakers and I do have quite a few pairs, but I seem to be getting a little bit addicted to them recently, I’ve started wearing them much more often than the usual off days & dog walks. So how could I pass up such a perfect pair as these from Stylistpick? Smooth mixed with perforated, zips, studs & those lovely thick contrasting soles, plus I love a good high top & they are chunky, padded & super comfortable.
Apologies for my death glare in the first photo, despite the fact it started off as a reasonably warm, sunny day within ten minutes of being outside the temperature suddenly dropped & it started to snow again, I was freezing! What is going on with this weather?!
I had to brave the cold to quickly to get a shot of the back of this dress though, as it was too nice to not show off. I love that it looks like such a plain, simple black dress from the front, yet the back is really quite dramatic. The crepe material is lovely too & the floaty skirt hangs so perfectly from the fitted bodice, it’s one of those great dresses that works equally well dressed up or down.
Stylistpick have recently launched a clothing section to compliment their shoes & accessories, starting with a brilliant collection of dresses for spring, including this one. I love that like their shoes, there is such a good mixture of styles, so there’s something for everyone, even fussy people like me!

Converse White Leather High Tops / ASOS Gloves
The past few days I have been super tempted to just wrap up & hibernate indoors until the weather finally decides to behave, but that’s pretty much impossible when you have a husky & there’s snow outside. I’ve never seen a dog so excited by the snow until we got Nico (see his little happy face!), he would sit outside in it all day if he could. We decided we might as well make the most of having to be outside to walk Nico & use it as an excuse for an outfit post too, plus I know how much you all love him & he’s not been in a post for a while now…
You’re probably more used to seeing me in heels, but these Converse are easily one of my most worn pairs of shoes & I’m a huge fan of sneakers, especially white ones. I love the totally mono colourway of these, without even a hint of coloured trim & the leather just makes them even more perfect. They are completely battered, they’ve seen festivals, gigs, plenty of dog walks, holidays, trips & summers lazing around at the park. They’ve been chucked in the washing machine more times than I can count, they’re scuffed on every inch & the white paint is wearing off them, but I love them to bits & will happily wear them until they fall off my feet. I’ve always hated pristine looking sneakers anyway, I think they’re the kind of shoes that look so much better a little beaten up, each flaw reminding you of all the amazing times you’ve had wearing them.

FAIIINT Draped Cropped Leather Jacket / ASOS Maxi Dress / Rick Owens Wedges / Balenciaga City
After having just spent a small fortune on a sale haul from ASOS I really shouldn’t have spent any more, but when I saw this maxi dress I couldn’t help but make another order. You know when you see something & it is just so you, it could have been made for you? This was one of those pieces, I couldn’t say no to it. The asymmetric midi/maxi hem, the contrasting jersey/crepe panels that give it a little stiffness & that beautiful flared shape & the top half is a t-shirt too, total perfection.
My cropped leather jacket from my degree collection (are you sick of seeing this yet?!) was the perfect compliment to the long lengths, I love playing with proportions, especially when wearing maxi lengths. Everytime I wear this I remind myself I need buy some more leather & make a better (less rushed) version, but never get around to it. I’m hoping to get my machine fixed in the next few weeks though, as I plan on making some summery dresses & shirts, so hopefully I might get around to it then.
Also, on a side note, I overheard some chavvy kids call me ‘the angel of death’ whilst wearing this, I think because it billows out so much when I walk, and of course all of the black… I’m sure they meant it as an insult, but I definitely spent the rest of the day swooshing around with this in my mind!
Topshop Blazer / Zara Cropped Leather Top / Max Studio Plait Dress / Maria Francesca Pepe Spiked Ring / Max Studio Linen Shorts / Max Studio Draped Top / Topshop Studded Sandals
I can’t believe it’s March already, it’s supposed to be the start of spring & yet I haven’t seen a single peep of sunshine. I have well & truly had enough of this grey, miserable weather now & I can’t wait to start wearing more spring appropriate things.
As usual I’ve absentmindedly been browsing the stores online daydreaming about pieces I’ll wear when it’s finally warm enough & this has left me with a million & one pieces on my current wishlist. I can see myself wearing a lot of sleeveless cotton jackets, paper thin linens, airy silk dresses & simple, unfussy jewellery. I still wear mostly black and a lot of tailoring, even when it’s summer, so I always look for pieces in super lightweight fabrics & the sleeveless cotton blazer would be such a perfect piece for warm days. I love the boxy cut & the little zip pockets.
I also recently came across Max Studio, a brand focusing on womens designer clothing, in beautiful fabrics, but at really great prices too. I am in love with the plaited harness dress, loose fitting jersey pieces are one of my staples when it comes to summer & the plaiting on this adds the perfect amount of detail to an otherwise plain & easy dress. I’m also coveting their asymmetric top, it is so perfectly draped & the airy crepe material looks as though it’d be a dream in the sticky summer heat.
Topshop Suede Cropped Jacket / ASOS Revive Bustier & ASOS Maxi Skirt c/o Ladbrokes * / Bracher Emden ‘Geo’ Clutch * / AllSaints Necklace / Topshop Chain Strap Wedges
A few weeks ago Ladbrokes got in touch asking me to take part in a blogger challenge to celebrate the Oscars and their new Diamond Slot game, the idea being to create an outfit from ASOS that you’d wear to The Oscars. I have to admit that at first I found this kind of strange, but I soon started daydreaming & wondering what would I wear if in some kind of alternate reality I actually were attending, so I accepted. I also thought it would be a perfect excuse to do a more evening kind of outfit, especially as you guys mostly only ever see what I wear casually, though arguably this isn’t much different!
I’m sure most of you guessed that I wouldn’t choose some huge couture-style gown & would have to dress it down a little. The fact is I just don’t do that kind of over the top glitz & glamour, I feel much more comfortable in something simpler, something I can rough up. Messy hair, smudgy eyes & clunky shoes are how I feel most me.
I decided to go with separates, as surprisingly there were hardly any suitable black dresses available. The bustier is my favourite part, even though I don’t usually like these corset style tops. The quilted texture & the deep cut out somehow manage to make it feel much fresher than the cliche kind you usually see & yeah, it makes you feel a little like Wonder Woman too, which is always a bonus! I’ve been wanting this maxi skirt for a while, so now seemed the perfect reason to finally get it, I just love the curved split & folding at the waist.
I had to throw a jacket on as well to stop me from getting too many stares wandering around our local park all dressed up & wearing so little in the freezing weather and I love that if I simply switched the bustier for a tee this is something I’d definitely wear casually too.
Scott Wilson for Aqua Collar / AllSaints Draped Dress / Topshop Bag / Topshop Woven Boots / Inlovewithfashion Draped Skirt / Helmut Lang Blazer / ASOS Kitten Eye Sunglasses / ASOS Spiked Bangle / A.F.Vandevorst Double Belt
With the mixture of snow, gale force winds & buckets of rain that we’ve had here for the past few days I’ve not been able to shoot an outfit for today, so I thought instead I’d share with you all a couple of the things I’ve currently got my eye on…
As I mentioned in the last post, I’ll always have a soft spot for a good blazer & this one from Helmut Lang is possibly my dream jacket. Satin lapels, slight wrap to the front, cropped back & a nice sharp silhouette, it’s also at 65% off on The Outnet making it a huge steal. As usual though, there are none left in my size & it has left me obsessively searching Google & eBay for any that are still around that I can fit into! I need this jacket!
Another thing I will always love is beautifully draped jersey pieces, I can never have enough of them. The knotted AllSaints dress is the perfect shade of charcoal, in the softest viscose jersey & the heavy draping makes it so much more than just another basic dress. I’m also a little bit obsessed with the draped skirt from Inlovewithfashion, it reminds me of a Helmut Lang one I wanted last year, but I couldn’t find one anywhere in black. This version looks like it’s a slightly heavier jersey, which I actually prefer & is a fraction of the cost too.
I don’t think I even need to mention how much I want all of the accessories, every single one would fit so effortlessly into my wardrobe. The Topshop boots & bag are at the top of the list though. I need more black boots like I need a hole in the head, but the woven texture on these makes them too good to pass up.

Francis Leon Spring/Summer 2013 Lookbook
Lately I cannot get enough of Aussie designers, everything they produce just seems to ooze this laid back, effortless kind of charm & elegance, clothes that although intricately detailed & in super fine fabrics feel as though you can just throw them on.
Francis Leon is the latest Aussie designer crush to add to that list. The label produces the kind of clothes I image superheroines wear on their days off, a mixture of futuristic, graphic paneling, tight silhouettes & functional sportwear detailing, it’s laid back luxe at it’s best.
The SS13 lookbook has me hooked even further, it has this infectious sci-fi rock’n'roll kind of attitude about it, it makes me want to be that girl & want to own every piece, especially the jackets. My favourite is without a doubt the first jacket, it’s the perfect biker & the little flash of oxblood on the inner arms make it really special. It’s these little details that really make the collection stand out, the small ribbed inserts, the masterful mixing of textures & fabrics, subtle paneling & the beautiful fitted cuts, they’re the type of pieces that you’ll always find something new to love & wear to death because they make you feel so kick-ass.
