The morning before the AX Paris party we spent running around trying to fit in as many press days as possible. One of my favourites that we visited that day was Trace Publicity, who represent some of my favourite designers & brands. Upon arrival we were treated to lunch & a nice cup of tea provided by The Social Pantry, which was very much appreciated after a lot of running around! There were so many beautiful pieces on display, so it was a real pain narrowing down the photos, but these are just a few of my favourites.

First up was Zoe & Morgan, this was a brand I had always assumed wasn’t very ‘me’, but after seeing the pieces up close I went away wanting almost everything. Amongst their more signatures pieces, such as the ‘love’ rings, were a collection of heavily Egyptian influenced pieces. I’m a bit of an ancient history nerd and have always been fascinated by the Egyptians, so I was totally smitten with those, I particularly loved the chunky silver choker & the cobra hooped earrings.

I’m sure you don’t need me to tell you about my love for Jean-Pierre Braganza again, I adore everything he creates & his AW13 collection was possibly his best yet, so it was lovely to see the pieces up close & get to really appreciate all of the little details. I love that he incorporates so much texture into his collections, I wanted to run my fingers over everything. The jackets were a highlight for me, so perfectly sculpted and the prints on the dresses too, which are even more beautiful in person. Talking of prints, Georgia Hardinge’s dresses made me want to be a little braver & try more of them out in my own wardrobe. They feel architectural & fresh, perfectly mapping the contours of the body. I could picture myself wearing almost all of them (yes, even the lime green ones!) and that’s coming from someone who doesn’t do print.

Fyodor Golan is another of those designers, like Braganza whose pieces you really need to see in person to truly appreciate. The painstaking embellishment & perfectly draped folds on the cream dress totally blew me away. The rest of the collection was equally stunning too, I noticed so many lovely details that I’d totally missed when seeing the pieces on the catwalk, which just made me fall in love with them even more.

I get the feeling I will be investing in a lot of new jewellery come Autumn, as I also wanted pretty much everything Fannie Schiavoni had on offer. I’ve always admired her pieces, but have yet to buy anything, the choker with the black crystal pendant is going straight onto my wishlist though!

Ribbed / OUTFIT

FAIIINT, Outfit, Bracher Emden, Belt, Jean Pierre Braganza, Rut M.fl, Ribbed, Chunky, Jumper, Sweater, Grey, Black, River Island, Asymmetric, Skirt, Topshop, Boutique, Boots, Leather, Bangle, Cuff, Street Style, Fashion, Blogger,FAIIINT, Outfit, Bracher Emden, Belt, Jean Pierre Braganza, Rut M.fl, Ribbed, Chunky, Jumper, Sweater, Grey, Black, River Island, Asymmetric, Skirt, Topshop, Boutique, Boots, Leather, Bangle, Cuff, Street Style, Fashion, Blogger,FAIIINT, Outfit, Bracher Emden, Belt, Jean Pierre Braganza, Rut M.fl, Ribbed, Chunky, Jumper, Sweater, Grey, Black, River Island, Asymmetric, Skirt, Topshop, Boutique, Boots, Leather, Bangle, Cuff, Street Style, Fashion, Blogger,

This whole outfit pretty much consists of pieces I just can’t stop wearing, so sorry if it’s a little repetitive! Since this River Island skirt arrived a few weeks ago I’ve worn it to death. It’s one of those pieces that’s so easy, yet the asymmetric cut & the slight draping give it that little something extra, meaning every time I’ve put on another skirt this last week I’ve ended up changing into this again because it just looks so much better.

The same goes for my Bracher Emden belt, it transforms any outfit, even the most boring one, into something special with it’s statement shape & sharp angles. Sometimes this can be a problem though, as I have been finding myself getting dressed & feeling as though something is missing from my outfits, then realizing it’s the belt, that impact it has, the way it magically pulls everything together, it’s a little addictive. Before you know it, I’ve been adding it to every outfit & wearing it all week! I don’t want it to loose that wow factor it has though, so I’m forcing myself to only wear it now & again from now on.

This sweater from Rut&Circle is another recent addition I’ve been wearing an awful lot, I never like to buy or wear plain, boring sweaters, they’re such a focal point of an outfit when you’re wearing one, so I always think they should be kind of special. The little details like the longer back & subtle diagonal ribbing to the chest have made this one a real staple in my wardrobe. Plus it’s so chunky & snuggly, perfect for this freezing weather.

This was the first time I’ve been out without a coat or jacket in months, it was such a nice day. Yet fast forward a few days to today & we have a thick blanket of snow & it’s back to being freezing again, typical British weather!

This outfit is all about the beautiful, angular Bracher Emden belt, it makes me feel like some sort of futuristic crime fighter & so I couldn’t resist pairing it with my quilted shoulder tee from ASOS for that little extra sci-fi element! It’s such a statement piece that it immediately dominates any outfit, so I like to keep the rest of my look simple so that it can take full center stage. I’ve been wearing it a lot over chunky sweaters too, as it’s one of those pieces that can transform even the most boring & casual outfits into something so striking & dynamic.

The draped skirt from Religion is one of the only sale buys I’ve brought this year, I’ve been so disappointed in the online sales & haven’t even bothered to check out the stores yet as I’ve heard they’re not much better either. I’d had my eye on the skirt for a while though, so of course I had to get it at 50% off. I love how the draping at the sides actually gives me the illusion of having a few curves, instead of my usual boyish silhouette!

Super / OUTFIT

FAIIINT, Outfit, Bracher Emden, Belt, Jean Pierre Braganza, ASOS, Spike, Choker, Gold, Costume Dept., Dress, Asymmetric, One Shoulder, Body Con, Gathered, Rouched, Draped, Topshop, Boots, Lace Up, Black, Gold, Super Hero, Desert, Gothic, Sci FiFAIIINT, Outfit, Bracher Emden, Belt, Jean Pierre Braganza, ASOS, Spike, Choker, Gold, Costume Dept., Dress, Asymmetric, One Shoulder, Body Con, Gathered, Rouched, Draped, Topshop, Boots, Lace Up, Black, Gold, Super Hero, Desert, Gothic, Sci FiFAIIINT, Outfit, Topshop, Boots, Lace Up, Black, Gold, Super Hero, Desert, Gothic, Sci FiFAIIINT, Outfit, Bracher Emden, Belt, Jean Pierre Braganza, ASOS, Spike, Choker, Gold, Costume Dept., Dress, Asymmetric, One Shoulder, Body Con, Gathered, Rouched, Draped, Topshop, Boots, Lace Up, Black, Gold, Super Hero, Desert, Gothic, Sci Fi

This belt from Bracher Emden makes me feel like a super hero in disguise, it’s one of those things that as soon as you put it on you morph into this super confident, kick ass type of character. The width & tightness make it impossible to slouch, so you are automatically given a more confident posture, but it’s the unusual angular shape, mix of textures & geometric slices that really make a statement. Like all of their bags it’s beautifully constructed in the most gorgeous leathers & has the signature magnetic fastening to the back, making it look super slick from all angles. I love that all of their pieces are very statement making without being too fussy, even though they’re often intricately detailed, the tone on tone colours & graphic shapes keep them looking very clean & minimal too.

I kept the rest of the outfit pretty simple & in keeping with the super hero kind of theme, chunky boots & a hint of spikes was all it needed. I love this dress from Costume Dept. it’s really basic but the asymmetric neckline makes it that little bit more interesting. I brought it from the sale on ASOS, having never heard of the brand before & have since been unable to find hardly any of their other pieces, they don’t even appear to have a website. It’s a real shame, I’d love to see what else they have to offer & would gladly buy more pieces if they’re anything like this dress.

How awesome is this huge boulder we found in the middle of a park? I love how it looks as though it could be the middle of some barren desert, except we’re actually in the middle of a city! It was also ridiculously windy despite the bright sun, which is why my hair is having a ‘Something About Mary’ moment in the first image…

On Wednesday we were invited to co-host the Nelly & Fashiolista ‘High Heels’ event in Nottingham at Coco Tang. I don’t get to attend as many events as I’d like to, living a little way from London & being unable to drive makes it sort of awkward, so I couldn’t turn down the opportunity to go along to one so close by!

We decided to shoot some outfit photos before we left for the party & it was a good job we did, as again, I barely got to take any during the actual night! We didn’t really have the time to & I always feel super awkward having outfit photos taken when there’s a whole room full of people! Does anyone else find that cringey or is it something I should just get over?

As with the last party Nelly threw, it was a seriously fun night & the guests were spoiled with yet more free shoes, goodie bags & competitions galore! Personally, I had my eye on the platforms with the ombre heel in red & also the black version, though predictably, I loved all of the spiked & studded styles too!

My task for the night was to judge the shoe design competitions, anyone who knows me will know this is one of the worst things you could ask me to do, I am so indecisive & I felt so mean picking only one favourite, they were all so good! I was also in charge of the One-Piece competition, getting the girls to dress up in a One-Piece & do silly poses for the photographer for the chance to win one themselves! Not wanting to miss out, I pulled one over my own outfit & wore it for almost the entire night! The guys at Fashiolista were even kind enough to let me take home the one I was wearing, though to be honest I don’t think I’d want it back after it’d been worn all night if I were them either!

We had a great night talking to all the girls, trying to decide which pair of heels we liked best & laughing about how silly I looked in my dress & heels + the One-Piece! And I got to meet the lovely Aisling too, who also came along to help! I won’t lie, I’m probably enjoying the comfort of the One-Piece a little too much… It’s not really my thing at all, but I think I’ve been seduced by it’s snugglyness, I’ve barely taken it off since!

Black & Nude / OUTFIT

Incase you hadn’t already noticed from the layout, black & nude is one of my favourite colour combinations. Nude is usually the closest I get to wearing a colour that could be considered ‘girly’, though I think it has an edgyness to it also, especially when paired with black. I love wearing a nude tank top or dress that is almost too close of a match to your skin tone, add black accessories & I think it looks so striking & beautiful, plus it’s always fun to watch people in the distance gawk at you thinking you have nothing on!

I haven’t been able to stop staring at this Bracher Emden clutch since I received it last week, I think I’m in love. As I’ve mentioned many times before, I’m not much of a bag person, it’s usually shoes that make my heart go weak, but this is a different story. I think in part it’s is due to the strong Sci-Fi feel about it, I’m a huge nerd & love anything science fiction related, but mostly I’m a massive fan of HR Giger’s work & that was my first thought when I saw this clutch. It doesn’t help that I’ve recently watched Prometheus & the Alien quadrology (no, not including those awful Alien Vs. Predator movies!) a fair few times in the last month either! But then adding to that the beautiful construction & the fact it’s part of a collaboration with Jean-Pierre Braganza, one of my current favourite British designers (& I would guess also a huge Sci-Fi nerd!) & I was smitten!

And yes, I’m wearing my Moxham again! I couldn’t resist though, it is such a perfect match for this pleated maxi from Jovonnista, toughening it up & giving it that little bit of edginess that I always like to have when wearing anything overly feminine. I have way too many maxi dresses / skirts already, but I couldn’t say no to this one, the pleats, uneven hem & the ideal my-arm-almost-blends-into-it nude… Perfect!
