Passionata ‘White Nights’ Balconette Bra & Bikini Breif *

As some of you will know from my social media and lack of posts around here I’ve been having a bit of a rough time recently, I’ve been feeling pretty low in confidence in myself, completely confused and like a pretty rubbish person to be honest, so this little parcel from Passionata really couldn’t have come at a better time. There is nothing like beautiful underwear to cheer a girl up and I always feel a million times more confident when I’m wearing a gorgeous set, even if it’s just underneath my normal clothes. In fact, that’s one of my favourite things to do when I’m having a down day, knowing you have the full works on underneath and no one else has any idea definitely gives you a little extra self confidence and sass.

This beautiful balconette bra and bikini from the ‘White Nights’ range arrived just as I was leaving for London, so I quickly stuffed the parcel in my bag as I ran to catch my coach. Of course, as soon as I got to my hotel I had to try them on and I then spent half the day prancing around my room feeling awesome in them, so awesome that I couldn’t resist some cheeky mirror shots to show them off! It’s so nice to be able to look in the mirror and say, you know what I don’t have the flattest stomach, the most toned thighs or biggest boobs, but I don’t care because I feel amazing. Made from a gorgeous soft mesh with delicate Italian floral embroidery all over it’s the perfect mix between a pretty and more sensual look, and thanks to the great fit it’s comfortable enough to wear everyday and not just have to be saved for special occasions too.

I had a fitting arranged at the Little Big Bra Shop in Market Harborough a few weeks ago to make sure it would be the perfect fit when it arrived, as it’s been a while since I was last fitted. Here they don’t use tape measures, everything is done by eye and the lovely Karen got it absolutely spot on the first time just from looking at me. She surprised me by telling me I was actually a cup size bigger than what I’d been wearing (and had been told I was by a high street store), but also a back size down making me a bit of an awkward 30 back and explaining why I usually have issues with bras riding up, it was a bit of a revelation! I’d highly recommend getting fitted properly by someone with real expertise if you have never been before. I now also have the perfect excuse for new underwear shopping too!

Launch of Artist of Makeup by Zukreat at Femi Health & Beauty Leicester

Last week Femi Health & Beauty held a small launch at their beautiful city centre salon to celebrate the arrival of Youtube sensation Zukreat’s Artist of Makeup range of cosmetics, being the first and only retailer in the whole of the UK to stock the line. Outside of the salon you can buy all of the products online, however it’s always nice to be able to swatch in person before committing to a purchase, especially with things like foundations and concealers.

A handful of press and local bloggers were invited for a preview before the salon opened to the public when everyone got the first chance to see and sample the products and for a meet & greet with Zukreat. The queue was huge, with lots of girls saying how excited they were to have the brand stocked here, so I imagine it’ll be a huge success. We were treated to canapés from Hotel Maiyango, and some of the most delicious macarons I’ve ever tasted from Macarons and More whilst we all chatted amongst ourselves. We then headed into the conservatory where Zukreat gave us a demonstration of the products, doing a full look on one of the beautiful Femi girls, showing us how best to use each product and explaining the formulas and backgrounds of each one as she went along. I was amazed by how quickly she did a full, super polished look and I definitely picked up a few tips and tricks myself.

The products themselves are an absolute dream, everything is very high quality and they are super pigmented and blend-able making them lovely to work with. We were kindly given a Contour Stick, Art Liner & Eye Shadow Palette to try for ourselves and I have raved about each one to my friends and family since, especially the Art Liner with its jet black formula and ingenious refill cartridges. I have been a lifelong liquid foundation user but I’m also very tempted to try the cream foundations now after seeing how glowy and natural it looked when she demonstrated them to us, doesn’t it make her skin look so luminous and incredible?

We were also given a full tour of the salon, Femi is one of Leicester’s premier salons having won a host of awards for it’s services and excellence over the years. They offer everything from facials, massages and hair removal to tanning, nail treatments and full makeup packages. The salon is so bright and airy throughout, with a huge variety of different rooms to ensure you have the perfect relaxing atmosphere for your treatment. After eyeing up all of the Femi girls perfect brows pretty much the whole time I was there, I know where I’ll be going when mine are ready for a reshape!

Emma Brown Hair / Clarendon Park Road, Leicester

Last week I paid a visit to the lovely Emma at Emma Brown Hair for a long overdue tidy up of my hair. I am notoriously bad at keeping up with getting my hair cut, because it’s long, wavy and I wear it kinda scruffy, I never notice it needs cutting until it’s super overgrown and then I always feel a bit guilty admitting it’s been probably 6 months or more since it was last cut! Emma was lovely about it though and instantly knew how to freshen it up and give it a new lease of life.

The salon is situated on Clarendon Park Road, an area I don’t often find myself venturing over to but it has such a nice selection of shops and a real community spirit, perfect for a wander down if you’re in the area. Emma was telling me she actually grew up here, lots of her family are still nearby and she had always known this is where she’d want her salon. It’s the perfect place for it and the striking grey front really stands out amongst the other businesses. Stepping inside, the salon is beautifully decorated, it feels modern but relaxed and I loved the bright pink and purple accents. It is also one of only a few salons in the city that stocks the wonderful range of products from Aussie brand KEVIN.MURPHY, who take a skincare approach to haircare using the highest quality natural, organic ingredients to weightlessly deliver performance, strength and longevity. They are also all sulphate free, paraben free and cruelty free too. I have become a bit addicted to their ANGEL.WASH & ANGEL.RINSE since trying them out, it leaves my hair feeling so beautifully soft and nourished.

After talking, Emma decided to cut a good few inches off my hair to tidy it up and add in some really blended shorter layers to give it a bit more shape and body to stop it from looking so weighed down. My hair is actually wavy, but with how long it had grown if I left it to dry naturally it was virtually straight from the weight, now with the shorter layers it dries much beachier looking if I just leave it, which I love. As far as I’m concerned, the less time I have to spend styling it the better, so that’s a big plus! It also feels much healthier and in great shape too, which you’ll see when I get some outfit photos up soon. I’d definitely recommend booking an appointment if you’re in the area, your hair will be in great hands with Emma.
