Topshop Suede Jacket / Boohoo Gold Knit Sweater * / AllSaints Draped Dress / Topshop Belt / Topshop Boots / Balenciaga City

I’m not sure what it is with me lately, but it seems that the golden biker jacket I featured a little while ago has given me a taste for all things gold & sequined. It’s so unlike me, but over the past week or so I’ve found myself drawn to everything shiny. First this metallic knit, then gold foil nail polish & I even have a (non-black!) sequined tee on the way! That’s something I never thought I’d be saying, but of course I’ll be wearing them all with a good dose of black, lots of draping & my beaten up boots too!

It’s nice to surprise yourself sometimes & find that things you’d usually dismiss for not being very ‘you’ can actually slot quite effortlessly into your wardrobe with the right styling.

As soon as I saw this chunky knit from Boohoo it was love, the golden paint over the top gives it almost a chain-mail kind of look, and you all know how much I love anything with a bit of a ‘warrior’ feel, so of course I had to have it. It’s super soft & slouchy too, perfect worn a little oversized & belted or tucked in. I love that the gold is just painted on so imperfectly, bits of black knit showing through & patches where it’s rubbing off, it gives it a grungier feel which is I think why I find it so wearable. I must admit though, I am a little scared to wash it, I’m not sure how well the finish will hold up as it’s already leaving a fine layer of golden dust on anything it touches!

Wow you look totally amazing! That’s a beaut of an outfit! I think we must have similar taste because I bought practically the same gold jumper from H&M! I also just wanted to say thanks for your comment about the Evil Twin trousers, it really helped me decide to wait for a better discount :) xxxx

Yes! I saw similar in H&M too & couldn’t decide about it then!
No problem, just wanted to give you the heads up after I was disappointed with them, with a better discount they’d be worth it, but at the current price they’re overpriced for the quality!

This look is great, you pull off gold really well as an accent colour! I’m completely drawn to anything shiny/glittery/sequinned because I’m a total magpie, haha. Whenever I’m in the shops I’ll head straight to them! I’m not particularly impressed with the quality of Boohoo products so fingers crossed it holds up :( xx

Hehe! :) Yeah, I’ve had a few pieces in the past & was honestly less than impressed, however, the jumper itself is nice, really soft & thick, it’s just the gold I’m worried about. If it’s coming off before it’s even seen the water I dread to think how it’ll look after a wash! Eeek! :(

You look incredible – that jumper is so lovely on you. I think Zara did a similar one not too long ago.

I really like this outfit, you look really stylish. I can’t believe that jumper is from Boohoo, it looks designer. I think Boohoo are getting a lot better lately :)

love love love that last image where it’s bunched up – looks amazing! i love painted knits though i haven’t got one of my own yet. was crushing on a very similar piece last year that was a bit duller in finish (old gold?) but i love this almost fishscale effect. black and gold always look amazing together and i love this outfit!

Yeah, me too! It was actually a bit of an accident, I was trying to get my hair out of my face & Ollie took this, my face in it was terrible (Hah!), but cropped I think it’s one of my favourite detail shots! :)
There are lots of cheap-ish ones around at the moment, I’d say definitely try one of those out if you want one, I’d be wary of spending too much though as I think it’s unlikely to keep the finish for many washes. Or DIY with some fabric paint! :D

obsessed with that sweater. love how you said it had a metal chain look- because you’re totally a warrior!
if you don’t want to wash it- i’ve heard if you put jeans in the freezer it sucks out the odor . . . maybe you could try that with this sweater? ’cause you can’t take the risk & loose the shimmer of your armour!

Steph, gold is the perfect way to give a touch of light to an outfit and it is great with all-black ensemble like the one you wear on this post! I also love the fat that the jumper has a chunky texture, which makes it perfect to wear by day!
