Catarzi Fedora / AllSaints Draped Dress / Lux Coronette Lion Claw Necklace / Vivienne Westwood Animal Toe Shoes / Balenciaga City

For months now I’ve been craving a huge black hat, seeing some of my favourite girls rocking them made me need one even more, but I feared it just wouldn’t suit me. Even when it arrived I was unsure. I liked the hat but it felt odd on me & I really couldn’t decide, so I asked you guys on Instagram if you thought I should keep it – it was an overwhelming yes, so I guess it’s staying! I’ve never been a hat person, it was only last year that I took the plunge & brought my first hat in years, a beanie. I fell in love with it & it barely left my head all winter, what had taken me so long?! Hopefully it’ll be the same story with this one.

I haven’t worn these Vivienne Westwood shoes for such a long time that I almost forgot how much I love them. A rescued eBay steal, they were beaten up & a metallic gold before I got my hands on them. They are starting to look a little battered again now after a lot of wear, but I think they’re one of those pairs that look better a little lived in & scuffed up. It kind of suits the sculpted toes, as if they’re so old & worn they’ve molded to your foot shape & yes, they are as comfortable as that image implies!

They’re one of a handful of things I own that always seem to get me a lot of repulsed looks whenever I wear them. I know to some people they are quite ugly, they’re definitely not pretty shoes, but I’ve always been drawn to that sort of strange beauty & I love how they make my feet look like little animal paws!

Hats are so hard. Like, I’ve been struggling but I think the more you wear them the better it gets? Ah and nothing like an old pair of fave shoes – the ones I wear are over three years old now and all scuffed but I rock them like no ones business, especially come winter. xx

Yes, I bet that’s probably right, the more I’ve worn this one the less odd it feels… I guess they take some getting used to!

I totally agree with you I have been dying for a black hat like these but scared I couldn’t pull it off. I recently bought one from forever 21 and I’m in love with it!

    This looks great on you!

I thought I couldn’t either, I only brought this because it was cheap to try it out, but I really do love it now & contemplating getting a more expensive version :)

I’ve never been a hat person either. It was last winter that I bought two hats and I feel exactly just like you! Now I’m so in love with them!
Anyway, you look gorgeous! The hat looks perfect on you and those shoes are perfect!

The hat looks great on you! Do you feel confident wearing it? I bought a hat like this one a few weeks ago and love matching it with my outfits, but always feel a bit overdressed when I get out ;)

I didn’t at first, I felt kind of silly with it on & like people were staring at me! But the more I’ve been wearing it, the more confident I feel with it… I’ve worn it so much that my head feels kinda bare without it now & like my outfits ‘missing something’! ;)

Oh, I can imagine, that’s just how I feel! But maybe I should just risk it then ;) Practiced with a smaller hat on holiday the last two weeks to protect my hair from the sun, and nobody complained about that ;) Can also relate to feeling bare without it, I called it a ‘phantom-hat’ and checked if I was wearing it if I just took it off ;)

Yes, definitely risk it! I think it’s one of those things that if you’re not used to wearing a hat, it takes some getting used to. It feels odd having this huge thing on your head! But, everyone else said how nice it looked, so that helped me ignore my brain saying ‘I feel silly’! Hah! :)

As soon as I saw those shoes I quickly scrolled down to double check – Vivienne Westwood of course! I adore Vivienne Westwood, I love the fact that you bought a battered pair on Ebay and made them your own. I would never think to dye a pair of shoes. I don’t know about them not being pretty, I’m fairly in love with them! I think you amazing in the fedora, it’s like it’s taken your already sky high level of stylish to another level beyond! I love it and it suits you so, so much xxx

Hehe! Yeah, they are pretty to me too, but I get why some people go ‘yuck!’ at them! ;) I see a lot of her shoes on ebay actually for really cheap because they’re a little worn, you should definitely keep an eye out! And thankyou! The fact all of you guys are saying it suits me too makes me feel much more confident wearing it :)

I do own a big black hat, but never wear it. It always feels as not the right moment or something.

It looks good on you, it does makes you a little less dark I guess.

Gotta say Stephanie that these are beautiful shots of you, love the eyeliner and your skin looks amazing and fresh! The hat is fantastic, I have been looking for another (I have one but I want a wider brim like yours) The outfit is perfection with the draping. You and Divinitus (if you don’t know her check her out) are teh 2 blogger s that can really rock all black outfits without being boring xx

Hahaha I can imagine all the looks you get, I had to do a double take on them myself! I wasn’t sure if my eyes were playing up or what LOL but damn they are so awesome and unique! I love the toe imprints, definitely not seen anything like that before, aside from onsies things which do not count! And am glad you kept that hat! It looks gorgeous on you!

i was just thinking the toes look like paws! They’re definitely one of the more interesting shoes I’ve seen. it really suits your style and i can’t tell it’s battered unless i look really closely at the sole edges.. think the re-paintjob has definitely given it a new life! and yes i think the hat is definitely a keeper! especially with this dress!

ps – love your hair here, its amazing!

Thanks Steph! Yeah, they could do with a touch up as I have worn them to death since I first dyed them & it is fading a little. I just love how they look like paws, I find it so cute! Hah! And yeah, I think it’s finally at ‘the’ length I was aiming to grow it to :)
