French Connection ‘Manhattan’ Dress * / Bracher Emden Classic Bag / Rick Owens Cut Out Wedges

You might remember a little while ago my wishlist of minimal oriental inspired pieces, I’m not usually one to follow trends, but I still can’t get enough of this one. I ended up buying the Topshop dress from the wishlist, but unfortunately it wasn’t a great fit, so I’ve been on the hunt for a replacement. As soon as I saw this ‘Manhattan’ dress on the French Connection website I knew my choice was made. The wrap over, triangular capped sleeves & the slight draping at the shoulders subtly hint at the oriental inspiration without it being over the top.

Also, can I just make a point of how awesome the fit is? For someone who has a rather boyish silhouette a dress that gives you an actual waist & the illusion of curves is kind of magic. This is going to be my go to dress when I need to feel a little extra confident, it’s impossible to slouch in & gives you a little wiggle to your walk.

The weather wasn’t playing along though, hence the tights & I think this was the only photo we got where my hair wasn’t completely covering my face thanks to the gale force winds! Seems that’s the end of our summer then!

The dress is really a good fit! I think every girl needs a dress like that in their wardrobe. Every time I see that bag I want it even more!

Definitely! I used to shy away from super fitted things like this, feeling like they were a bit too ‘grown up’ for me, but now I can’t get enough!

I LOVE the dress, it looks absolutely stunning on you ! And I love how the cut and little details prevent it from becoming just a fitted black dress.. What a great find!

You look absolutely amazing. For me, I have too big curves and I have to say that I’m no big fan of it! ;)

I hate when that happens, but at least you found something better. This dress is very special and honestly I think it was practically made for you! Hmmm seems to me silly ‘ole Australia stole your summer! Muahahaha! Seriously you can have her back, I want winter. I want cold and rain and thunderstorms and reading by a fireplace whilst indulging in some chocolate.

This is such a flattering fit, I love the way the wrap over part sits perfectly, and I really love the detailing on the shoulders. Such a steal at the sale price too! xx

I know, French Connections sale seems crazy good this year! Such huge discounts & I am soo tempted to get a few more things. It’s a nice thick material too, which I think makes it even more flattering, nothing worse than a tight dress in thin material showing every lump & bump!

The surprise of the sleeves on this dress and the structured fit makes it all worth it. I think it looks incredible, especially with the cut out wedges. I’m the same way, if I find a style that I love, why not buy more! :) /Madison
