Next A/W14 New In Collections

A few weeks ago I met up with Tara to head down to Next‘s Autumn/Winter New In event held in a plush suite at the Ham Yard Hotel. Next always do these relaxed, intimate little previews of their new collections so well, it’s so nice to be able to browse the rails in your own time whilst catching up & chatting with the lovely team as well as other bloggers, all with a cocktail & cake in hand. Next just get it, and I love that every time I go to one of their events it feels like a little gathering of friends rather than the usual routine press day.

As soon as I walked in I was immediately drawn to the 2 rails stuffed with black & oxblood pieces, autumn/winter collections are always my favourite because I know there will be at least a few nice black pieces, but I was super happy to find so much of it here. Looking through there were so many pieces I wish I could have taken home with me there & then, but my favourites were a draped chiffon dress with deep cowl neck, a bodycon neoprene dress with lace details, a perfect little cropped jacket & not to mention all of the beautiful lace underwear, I’ll be keeping my eye out for all of them over the next few weeks.

As always we were also treated to other fun little activities to do whilst we were there. The talented Eleni of Fall into London illustrated each of us & our outfits on the day for us to take home & we also had palm readings from Julia. I’ve always been a bit of a sceptic when it comes to things like this, my mind likes science & hard facts, but I try to keep a fairly open mind too. She immediately noted my thumbs (if you’ve never noticed I have ugly ‘clubbed thumbs’) & told me a little of their history, which was really interesting and I must admit she did hit on a few things & personality traits that were scarily accurate!

I had such a nice afternoon catching up with all the usual faces, eating far too many cakes & adding a heap of new things to my rapidly growing wishlist. I also got to meet the incredibly lovely Claire & Katy this time too. Thanks again to Next for having me & for another great event!

Ah, I definitely love A/W for all sudden influx of black clothing, it’s definitely where I come into my own, I hate all the summer clothes.. Those burgers look amazing though!

Oooh I’ve always wanted to get my palms read and my fortune told. The closest I’ve ever been to that was in Hong Kong where random people would run up to you and tell you what body parts were considered “lucky”. I had a lucky face. Whatever that meant lol. I love that they brought in illustrators and clairvoyants to this event. Man that paired with the clothing and super cute food (too cute to consume) would have been epic. Wonder how they’ll outdo themselves next time round?

Hope you’ve been well Stephanie! Have a lot to catch up on over here!
