Autumn Sun

Ksubi / Ray Ban / SXUC / Celine / Celine

Despite the fact we’re heading into autumn here it’s been surprisingly sunny, it’s as though the weathers trying to make up for the miserable summer we’ve had & it’s been making me dream about sunglasses! Not that I need the sun to wear mine though, I wear them as much in the winter as I do in the summer, thanks to my watery eyes.

I’m pretty set in my ways when buying sunglasses, most of my pairs are hard to tell apart, but I think with sunglasses it’s best to stick with what suits you. I’ve been told by every store I’ve been into to buy a pair that I should go for something rounded to soften up my angular features, but it just doesn’t work for me, I prefer to play up this angluarness by wearing heavy, squared frames & I’ve never met a pair of cat eyes I didn’t like! I also usually go for black, but recently I’ve found myself loving the softer neutral colours like cream & blush, I’m seriously longing for a pair of those nude coloured Celines…

Top of my wish list though are the squared off Celine cat eyes in black, they’re like superhero sunglasses & I love how the squareness really updates such a classic shape. I’ve always been a sucker for wayfarer styles too & I’ve got my eye on the Ksubi pair, the cream flecks are such a quirky touch & it helps to add a little softness to the heavy black frames.

H&M Faux Fur Snood / Lovestruck Dress * / AllSaints Belt / Topshop Boots / Gogo Philip Cuff

Autumn is definitely on it’s way, I love when it’s bright & sunny like this but with a nice, crisp chill in the air too. As soon as I stepped out the door & realized it was a little too cold to not take a sweater with me, I jumped at the chance to chuck on my snood again! I’ve so missed wearing them, it’s like taking your duvet out with you, I feel so snug & cozy when I’m wearing one… Plus, they’re great for burying your face in & having a quick nap on the bus!

I’ve already worn this Lovestruck dress out for a meal since it arrived, but today I decided to really dress it down with my battered boots, thick ribbed tights & this wide AllSaints belt, which for some reason I barely wear. I love plain black dresses like this, but the ruffles & plaited gold straps on this one make it that little bit more interesting.

I’m not sure why I don’t wear this belt more often, it’s one of those things that everytime I put it on I take a look in the mirror & then decide to take it off again! I have heaps of things I don’t wear as much as I ought to, especially shoes, so I’m trying to make an effort to wear them more often & any that I still haven’t worn after a month are getting ebayed! I’m too much of a horder, I think I just hang onto clothes for the sake of it, thinking they might come in handy ‘one day’…

#3 : Laurie Bartley for Numero Tokyo / Again, love Laurie Bartley, love Crystal Renn… The whole editorial is just gorgeous!
#4 : Drop Dead ring set / I’m not really a fan of Drop Dead, but I love these rings, I think it’s the way the photos been shot that’s selling them to me though!
#5 : Warren Du Preez & Nick Thornton Jones for Numero / How beautiful is this image… So striking!
#6 : Tattooed 50’s couple / I just love this!
