I know you all love Nico, so I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to do a more casual outfit post & get to include him too. He’s been shedding like crazy & has his summer coat at the moment, so he’s looking a bit skinny, but his winter ones finally started growing back in now & I’m so looking forward to having my fluffy wolf back!
I get told so often that I always look ‘dressed up’, but I’m not really one for dressing super casual. I never save my nice things ‘for best’, I prefer to get my wear out of them, even if all I’m doing is walking Nico! I just don’t see the point in spending money on beautiful things to have them mostly sit in your wardrobe, what’s the point in that?
These snake print skinnies from Topshop are one of the few things I make a point of wearing as little as possible, mostly because I am dreading the day they finally get a hole & die. Isn’t that just the worst when your favourite pair of jeans get a hole? They are one of those things I picked up in the sale because they were cheap & then a few months later kicked myself for not buying a few backup pairs! I love subtle prints like this & the fit is so perfect, I should have known they’d quickly become my favourite pair. I’m still scouring eBay for replacements even now!
Despite never dressing overly casual, I’m a sucker for a good classic pair of sneakers & I am currently a little bit obsessed with my new Keds champions. It’s so nice to have a super lightweight shoe but with the comfort of a chunkier pair, thanks to the nice thick padding. I’m usually more of a high top kinda girl if I’m honest, but these are really growing on me, I like that they have a slightly smarter look to them but I’m also really pleased to hear Keds are bringing out a whole range of high top & boot styles for winter! They’re one of the comfiest pairs I own & perfect for long walks with Nico!

My sentiments exactly! People get so annoyed with me when I am getting ready to go out. I enjoy getting ready and putting looks together. I would feel so uncomfortable if I was really really casual. You have your own wonderful style and Nico is gorgeous :) xx

Yes, exactly! I’d feel more uncomfortable turning up somewhere in joggers & tee then I would totally overdressed! I love getting dressed & spend far too long doing it, surely that’s what fashions all about though?! :)

absolutely the same with me. sometimes I would show up at work, thinking “this was a bit too much today”, but still I enjoy being “a little more”, than “a little less”. I tried to push myself to stand a whole week in super casual jeans and t-shirts combinations, but I couldn’t do! I like to make everyday feel a little special, and wear my beautiful things to honor that day.

I just love Nico! You look so much better on walkies than I do, my dog is about a tenth of the size of Nico but he pulls on the lead so much so I’m just a frazzled sweaty mess! I deff agree with what you say about not saving things for best, what’s the point in that? If someone buys my Grandad a nice shirt or coat for Christmas my Nan doesn’t let him wear it and puts it away ‘for best’, he has things in there with the label still on that are like 10 years old haha. I love the sound of those shoes! I need a comfy pair for work, I’m wearing Converse now but they’re just a little too flat xxx

Hehe! Oh, Nico pulls like crazy too unless your running with him, I think it’s his Husky instinct he really enjoys pulling me along like a sled!
I know so many people who do that too, especially older people! It’s crazy! Why would you spend good money on something & then only wear it a few times?!
I must admit, I’m usually more of a Converse kinda girl too & I love my high tops, but the Keds are much comfier! The padding’s like an inch thick & feels all springy when you walk! ♡

I wasn’t really raised with keds more so converses! They look very comfy. Nico is beautiful, he looks like he belongs to the white witch from Narnia. I can’t imagine having to clean after him, especially you who wears so much black, it must get all over you. But I am sure you don’t mind x

Yeah, me too, I’ve always been more of a Converse kinda girl, I love my Chucks to death, but I will admit these are much comfier, I always wished Converse were slightly more padded.
Aww! He looks even more like a wolf when he has his proper thick, fluffy winter coat! He actually only sheds once a year for about a month & then the rest of the year he leaves barely any hairs, which I am so grateful for, as you said, they show up so badly on black! But for that month that he does moult my clothes brush is my best friend! ;)

It’s wonderful that you like getting dressed up. I for one, am not into saving the best. I feel better when my newly purchased clothes or shoes look slightly worn have an imperfection. It just means they’re “loved”. Still, you’re the best dressed person I’ve “seen” walking a dog.

I know exactely what you mean when you talk about ‘treasuring’ certain items and preserving them with religious care…It ahppens to me with jeans because for me it’s really difficult to get a pair that fits really well. I should follow your advice and buy at least 2-3 pairs if I find a model that suits…
