Todd Lynn for Topshop Tux Jacket / Vero Moda Draped Dress c/o Zalando * / Lux Coronette Claw Necklace / Rick Owens Wedges / Balenciaga City

Does anyone else have a default outfit you throw on when your feeling lazy, but want to still look like you’ve made a bit of effort? This is mine. It’s not always these exact pieces, but this is the general lazy outfit formula – jersey dress for comfort, sharp blazer to smarten it up, minimal jewellery & super comfy wedges.

This Todd Lynn for Topshop tux jacket & my fur collared one from the same collaboration are those kind of pieces I think could smarten up even the scruffiest of outfits. They are my go to jackets when it comes to lazy days like these, you can’t fail to feel put together when wearing one. It’s the super stiff, boxy shape, that feels as though it forms around the body like an armor, thanks to some brilliant cutting. I would happily have paid a lot for either of these jackets, I’m still after one from the mainline.

Vero Moda is a brand that went under my radar for the longest time, then one of their stores popped up in our shopping center & now I can’t get enough! They do so many great basic, staple pieces with a bit of a twist & the prices are also kind of amazing when you consider how nice the quality & materials are. This draped dress has become a bit of a favourite, and I get the feeling I’ll be adding many more of their similar black jersey dresses to my wardrobe pretty soon.

Why do you always make black look so amazing? I’ve never seen a blogger own so much black yet look so interesting in every single post! Love this look….so city chic.

i think the black always makes a “lazy” outfit look more sophisticated, as well as a little (comfortable) heel. the tux tail and lapel are such sweet deetz.

Yeah, totally agree. I think it’s half the reason people always say I look ‘dressed up’ even when I’m in the most casual clothes. The velvet lapels are my favourite, but I spend all day subconsciously stroking them whenever I wear it! Hah!

Looking beautiful as ever, we’d never know this was your ‘lazy’ outfit if you hadn’t said so! You are always looking very glamorous :) I love the blazer, and I was pleasantly surprised by Vero Moda when I walked into the store too. It is a lovely store, and the prices are great xx

I have a range of different outfits that seem to be a fallback, in one way or another. Loving the Vero Moda dress, you look really lovely!

Your lazy day outfit is way glammer than mine haha! I’m just a jeans and tee gal. I love your blazer, the cut is gorgeous. By the way I saw a puppy husky today and thought of Nico! Also, did you see the Altuzarra show? I could see some looks that are a bit of you haha! xxx

Aww, hah! I’ve always found a dress/tights comfier than jeans & it’s honestly the blazer though, it does all the work! ;) Yes, I loved his collection, especially the dresses near to the end! Aw, that’s so sweet that it made you think of Nico! Everytime I see a puppy husky I always have to go over & give it a stroke, I miss Nico being that small!

Honestly this is an all black outfit that is pure perfection. Lazy? Really… I need to up the stakes then on my ‘lazy’ looks! Mine is jeans with variations through the tops or heels and sometimes all black but nothing to this standard :) Really good look!

Hehe! They are actually the comfiest pair I own, and after spending that much I make a point of getting as much wear out of them as possible! ;)

I love that jacket – it’s such a great staple piece to have! That necklace is super pretty too. I think my staple things in my wardrobe are blouses, skater skirts and skater dresses.

The long back is quite unexpected! I think great shoes can make a lazy day outfit look a million times better and your Rick wedges are just gorgeous.

I’ve seen Vero Moda clothes on Asos but didn’t know much about them. I’ve actually never touched their clothes before. Must keep them in mind from now onwards.

Would definitely recommend them! I expected this dress to be pretty flimsy for £25, but it’s such a nice material, almost like a thin sweatshirt fabric with a fuzzy back, so soft & drapey.

Oh yes we all have an outfit like this! But lady you are looking sharp sharp! Jel of the Tod Lyn jacket. Can’t believe Vero Moda have gone but yes, like someone else has said their closes are still on ASOS so all is not lost!!

Steph, this is a great outfit and I see that that blazer would be perfect on any outfits! I have my ‘uniforms’ as well: the w-e one is mostly jeans, cardigan and (lately) an oversize scarf, and my work one where I go for a printed or colourful skirt, a more ‘conservative’ jacket or mini pull and a costume jewelry necklace. Hope evertything is well! Are you going to LFW?! Take care, Caterina

I have to say, whenever I see a printed skirt + jacket & costume jewellery on other girls I now always think “that’s very Caterina!” so I’d definitely say it’s one of you ‘uniforms’!
I’m not, I had to miss it due to being a bit poorly! Really annoyed, but will definitely be going next season to make up for it! :)

Heheh! I’m so glad I’m no the only weirdo lapel stroker! ;D
I’ve had them a little while, but haven’t worn them much on here yet! My only issue is I can’t get the zips all the way closed, thanks to my fat ankles, but I think they look fine slightly unzipped! ;)
