I’ve always had a soft spot for sneakers and I do have quite a few pairs, but I seem to be getting a little bit addicted to them recently, I’ve started wearing them much more often than the usual off days & dog walks. So how could I pass up such a perfect pair as these from Stylistpick? Smooth mixed with perforated, zips, studs & those lovely thick contrasting soles, plus I love a good high top & they are chunky, padded & super comfortable.

Apologies for my death glare in the first photo, despite the fact it started off as a reasonably warm, sunny day within ten minutes of being outside the temperature suddenly dropped & it started to snow again, I was freezing! What is going on with this weather?!

I had to brave the cold to quickly to get a shot of the back of this dress though, as it was too nice to not show off. I love that it looks like such a plain, simple black dress from the front, yet the back is really quite dramatic. The crepe material is lovely too & the floaty skirt hangs so perfectly from the fitted bodice, it’s one of those great dresses that works equally well dressed up or down.

Stylistpick have recently launched a clothing section to compliment their shoes & accessories, starting with a brilliant collection of dresses for spring, including this one. I love that like their shoes, there is such a good mixture of styles, so there’s something for everyone, even fussy people like me!

Jen Mann

I’ve developed a bit of an obsession with this photo-realistic, yet painterly style that seems to have become quite popular recently. I think it stems from my love of the old masters & that I’ve been getting really interested in classical art again over the past few years, I feel like this is sort of an updated, super modern version of those types of works.

For her newest exhibition ‘Strange Beauties’ Jen Mann focused on finding the beauty in the unexpected, those fleeting, awkward moments of imperfection. Starting off in her studio as photographs of her family & friends, she then manipulates the images in Photoshop before expertly transferring them onto large scale canvases using oils. The pastel colours, soft bush strokes & hazy light give the pieces an ethereal quality, like a vivid daydream or as though you’re looking at them through rose tinted glasses.

The past few days I have been super tempted to just wrap up & hibernate indoors until the weather finally decides to behave, but that’s pretty much impossible when you have a husky & there’s snow outside. I’ve never seen a dog so excited by the snow until we got Nico (see his little happy face!), he would sit outside in it all day if he could. We decided we might as well make the most of having to be outside to walk Nico & use it as an excuse for an outfit post too, plus I know how much you all love him & he’s not been in a post for a while now…

You’re probably more used to seeing me in heels, but these Converse are easily one of my most worn pairs of shoes & I’m a huge fan of sneakers, especially white ones. I love the totally mono colourway of these, without even a hint of coloured trim & the leather just makes them even more perfect. They are completely battered, they’ve seen festivals, gigs, plenty of dog walks, holidays, trips & summers lazing around at the park. They’ve been chucked in the washing machine more times than I can count, they’re scuffed on every inch & the white paint is wearing off them, but I love them to bits & will happily wear them until they fall off my feet. I’ve always hated pristine looking sneakers anyway, I think they’re the kind of shoes that look so much better a little beaten up, each flaw reminding you of all the amazing times you’ve had wearing them.

The leather jacket & cardigan were both picked up in my huge ASOS sale haul I mentioned in the previous outfit post, have I ever mentioned how much I love ASOS? Because I do, and their sales make me go a little crazy, buying up pretty much anything black.

This jacket has got to be one of my favourite things I’ve brought so far this year, and the fact it was super cheap in the sale (£42!) makes it even better. The leather is so buttery soft, with that perfect slightly loveworn look to it, but the faux ponyhair sleeves are what drew me to it & made me have to have it. They’ve also caused numerous strangers to come up & stroke me, not that I blame them, I seem to have a thing for strokeable clothing recently!

The cardigan was another of those things, like the maxi dress, that was so me I couldn’t pass it up. It’s thick, draped & with that lovely waffle texture that makes it so snuggly. It also has amazing white geometric patterned sleeves, which I’ll show you soon, once it warms up again. Speaking of warm, can we please have Spring now already? It’s almost April & it has just started snowing again as I’m typing this… Sigh…

Psyche

Psyche, Store, Shopping, Online

Psyche has evolved over the last 30 years into one of the UK’s leading designer concept stores, stocking a mixture of premium designer labels & more accessible brands, meaning there is something for everyone.

I have totally fallen for the Barbour jacket, the leather collar & lapels are such a nice, subtle contrast against the waxed cotton body & the little quilted details are great touches too. I have enough biker jackets as it is, but I think the mixture of fabrics here make it different enough compared to my others to add it to my ever growing wishlist of jackets!

I’ll never tire of a good leather dress either, and this By Malene Birger one is so great with it’s super fitted shape, huge zip & slightly cropped sleeves, I’d defy anyone to not feel seriously amazing after they’d poured themselves into this! The Michael Kors one is also very tempting at it’s current sale price, I’m not usually a fan of his & I’d definitely ditch the tan belt, but I love the zip detailing & the structured shape.

I love the two tone paneling on the Firetrap leggings, I would never usually wear leggings as trousers, but these look as though they’re thick enough to do so & it would be a shame to cover up those nice zipped pockets. I’m a little obsessed with the rose gold cuff too, I think it would look beautiful worn at the top of the arm, warrior princess style!
