MinkPink Wool Biker Jacket * / Little Mistress Dress * / Stylistpick Velvet Boots *

I’ve been dying for the temperature to drop enough to dig this MinkPink biker out again, I wore it to death last winter & I’m sure it’ll be getting a lot of wear this year too. The wool is so thick & cosy, and the chunky rose gold zip means I never feel like I need to bother with jewellery when wearing this, it’s such a simple but standout detail.

I think this Little Mistress dress is about the girliest thing I own, and I say girly because of the frill. I know it’s a black faux-leather frill, but still, that automatically makes it seem girly to me. I originally got it with the intention of wearing it to a posh meal, and I felt I needed something a bit more corporate & ‘proper’ compared to my usual draped pieces & generally quite relaxed wardrobe, one of those things I thought I needed to scrub up for. I didn’t end up going though, and it’s been sat in my wardrobe since. I felt it was about time it got some wear, so sticking to my always foolproof rule of ‘chuck a biker over it’ for anything I feel too dressed up in for daytime, that’s exactly what I did.

I’m the same with certain pieces, hoping that the weather will change so I can wear them. I’ve heard a lot about stylist pick and love these boots-might have to check the site out :)

That jacket is lovely, it was definitely made for you! The pleather frill detail on the LM dress is really sweet, you’ve successfully turned it into a day dress. ;) Every time I look at those shoes I wish I could walk in them haha.

it is a bit girlier than your usual but i love it! actually just bought something similar in a skirt form from zara and i can’t wait to see how it’ll turn out. i can see why you wore this biker a lot – it’s such a great piece and those rose gold zips are just such a nice detail. “chuck a biker over it” always works for me too! x

I’m the same – not so much a fan of the freezing weather, but AW is definitely my favourite season for getting dressed & shopping! ;)

I love your ‘chuck a biker over it’ rule haha I’ll definitely have to try that one! The frill automatically makes it seem more girly to me too, even though the faux leather toughens it up. I love how this looks on you, and it’s always good to dig something out that hasn’t been worn enough! I’d definitely recommend giving The Fault In Our Stars a read, John Green is a fantastic writer, I’m going to see if my sister has any of his other books I can borrow :) xx

I love that dress, it’s such a cute style but the black stops it being too cutesy.

I love the dress, the frill is so cute! I love those kind of drop hems, they look so wrong on me though! The jacket is gorgeous too, the rose gold zip is so different xxx

I’m the same with peplums, they make me an odd shape, so I guess this is kinda my way of trying out a more flattering version of that! ;)

It is definetly different to see you in a frilly dress but because it is black it is not as a girly as any other colour or print. I also wanted to mention that your previous style post I loved the layering. xx

The frilled hem is unexpected! I like how the rose gold zippers of your jacket contrasts nicely with all the black.
