Yesterday was Nico’s very 1st birthday! I thought that seeing as that he is such an important part of my life, he deserved his own little birthday post! I made him some cheesy biscuits & banana + honey muffins with peanut butter frosting (his favourite!) for his presents, so today he is sleepily lying around, fat & happy!
I actually can’t believe we’ve had him for almost a year now, it seems nowhere near that long & I couldn’t imagine my life without him in it now. I’ve wanted a husky since I was little & although he can be a bloody nuisance sometimes, he has definitely lived upto my expectations! He makes me laugh every single day with his silly husky ways, he will greet you as if he’s not seen you for years even if you’ve only been gone 5 minutes & he knows exactly how to cheer me up if I’m stressed or having a bad day with plenty of cuddles & kisses. He is one of my best friends, extremely spoilt and I probably talk to him way more than I should (it’s half his fault for talking back!) but I wouldn’t have it any other way!
I thought it’d be nice to make a little montage of the pictures we’ve taken of him over the past year to celebrate, so here you are, in order, Nico from a few weeks old & the day we picked him up at 8 weeks old right upto now…
And lastly, my favourite photo of Nico so far, he just looks so at home in the snow!

he makes me miss Kira and Mischa (my mums huskies).
she has a scooter that was actually made for huskies to pull. i had a go on it with them a couple of weeks ago and it was so much fun! it’s strange, as soon as you hook them up, they instantly want to run. x

Aww! I wanted to get him something similar, but they are so expensive, it does look such fun tho! I’ve settled for a bike attachment so he can run alongside (safely!) whilst I’m biking. I know exactly what you mean, Nico is the same, he could just run & run & run! :)

But anyways, Nico is absolutely beautiful, and happy birthday to him! It looks like he grows really quickly – how big is he? And do you know what type of husky he is? Sorry for asking so much! Huskies are my favorite breed of dogs, and I’m like you in that I’ve been wanting one since I was a child. I think part of the reason why I want to get a place of my own ASAP is so I can get a dog. XD

Hehe, Yes he is mine & thankyou! ♡
He has grown extremely quickly! He grew very tall & gangly very fast, he was all long bambi legs & (huge!) ears, he looked so funny! He’s only just starting to properly fill out now! He is about 22 inches from his feet to his shoulders when standing, or if he stands on his back legs he is the same height at me – 5 foot 7 inches, he’s still growing though!
There is only one ‘official’ type of Siberian Husky, so that’s what he is, but there are a few different breeds which look very similar to them – Alaskan Malamute (much bigger, almost twice the size), Alaskan Klee Kai (much smaller, about half the size) & Canadian Eskimo Dog (similar size, much fluffier & different personality, but it’s hard to find breeders of them).

Nico is SO beautiful! It’s mad how he was so small and look at him a year later! You have no idea how happy this post has made me, I’m a little too crazy over my dog too and now I feel like it’s acceptable haha! You have to celebrate their birthday’s otherwise it’s just mean. That second paragraph completely sums up why owning a dog is so great. I wanna go and like hug my dog now, but he’s ignoring me because my Mum’s eating biscuits so he’s begging.
By the way, my jeans are like coated silver, they’re in the sale now for 8 quid. So gutted haha! xxx

I agree, dogs are just such amazing creatures, so loving & so full of personality, I swear sometimes Nico is almost too human with some of the things he does! It’s only fair he gets a special birthday after all the love he’s given me, I think it’s mean too when people don’t celebrate it!
Nico is the same with biscuits, he would sell his soul for one if he could! His favourite thing to do is say “I love you… I looove you… I loooveee youuuuu!” when he’s begging, possibly the worst trick I ever taught him! Hah!
Also, I am so going to check out H&M tomorrow now! :D

Hehe! I know, it made me laugh so much when we were looking through the ones we had taken, so I had to use it! I think that was the point when it dawned on him what “birthday” was – Cake & flames! Hah! ;) I love the little expressions he does like this, he has such an expressive face!
I totally agree! I remember when I could pick him up & carry him around cos he was so small – No chance now! I have trouble even just nudging him along when I need him to move now! Ha!

your dog is precious! i love his goofy expressions :) i too have a dog whom i care for very much (pretty much like a best friend), a japanese spitz, and he’s turning 5 this year. time goes by very fast and it’s great to see that nico is very well cared for!
