I’m sure you’re all aware that I’m a bit of a boot fanatic, a good chunk of my wardrobe is taken over by them & almost all of them are black, heavy & stompy. It’s a bit of an obsession. I wear mine all year round, even in the Summer heat, but my favourite part of the year is when the Autumn/Winter collections start hitting the high street, as it means one thing – new boots!

House of Fraser is one of my favourite places to search for them, as they stock such a good variety of brands & have a huge selection, so there’s always something to tempt me. This year I’ve had my eye on quite a few biker & riding style boots, I don’t actually have any good flat boots so I can totally justify a pair of those. I just can’t decide between the metal covered Bertie ones or the strapped Steve Madden ones though! Are they different enough to be able to justify getting both?!

I’m also loving the sneaker style wedges that have been around for a while, I’ve been lusting after the Isabel Marant ones all year, but the Ash versions are also beautiful, look just as comfy & are much cheaper too.

I own endless pairs that look near identical to the Bertie platform ones, but I’ve still spent my lunch break trying to decide if they are too similar or not, adding them to my basket, removing them, adding them again…

I know you all love Nico, so I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to do a more casual outfit post & get to include him too. He’s been shedding like crazy & has his summer coat at the moment, so he’s looking a bit skinny, but his winter ones finally started growing back in now & I’m so looking forward to having my fluffy wolf back!

I get told so often that I always look ‘dressed up’, but I’m not really one for dressing super casual. I never save my nice things ‘for best’, I prefer to get my wear out of them, even if all I’m doing is walking Nico! I just don’t see the point in spending money on beautiful things to have them mostly sit in your wardrobe, what’s the point in that?

These snake print skinnies from Topshop are one of the few things I make a point of wearing as little as possible, mostly because I am dreading the day they finally get a hole & die. Isn’t that just the worst when your favourite pair of jeans get a hole? They are one of those things I picked up in the sale because they were cheap & then a few months later kicked myself for not buying a few backup pairs! I love subtle prints like this & the fit is so perfect, I should have known they’d quickly become my favourite pair. I’m still scouring eBay for replacements even now!

Despite never dressing overly casual, I’m a sucker for a good classic pair of sneakers & I am currently a little bit obsessed with my new Keds champions. It’s so nice to have a super lightweight shoe but with the comfort of a chunkier pair, thanks to the nice thick padding. I’m usually more of a high top kinda girl if I’m honest, but these are really growing on me, I like that they have a slightly smarter look to them but I’m also really pleased to hear Keds are bringing out a whole range of high top & boot styles for winter! They’re one of the comfiest pairs I own & perfect for long walks with Nico!

AllSaints Fashion’s Night Out

Yesterday we went down to London to celebrate Vogue’s Fashion’s Night Out, we spent the majority of the night at AllSaints dancing around to DJ Stuart Hammond, drinking complimentary cocktails, trying to decide which pieces of the new season collection to buy & watching Alpines perform live.

AllSaints is one of my favourite clothing brands, so of course I was eager to check out the new season collection in person & it might be one of their best yet. Recently I’ve become a little obsessed with oxblood, so I was really pleased to see that the colour was so prominent in the new collection, coming in leather jackets, pony hair boots & draped silk dresses, I wanted every single one. I found the printed pieces to be real standouts, especially the opium tee, with it’s mirrored poppy print, which was also used on dresses, leggings & tops to great effect. Of course, the iconic silhouettes, innovative draping, quality fabrics & perfectly distressed leathers that the brand is known for are all here too.

Throughout the night we were also treated to a preview of AllSaints new campaign, to be screened across cinemas nationwide, in store & online. It features a spectacular cast of upcoming creative talent, from musicians to poets, they are definitely ones to watch out for. Check it out at the bottom of the post!

Talking of artists to keep an eye on, Alpines were one of the highlights of my night. Sonically filling the gap between Hurts and Nikki And The Dove, they bring a modern edge where so many of their contemporaries have gone down the 80s route. Catherine’s voice is the perfect blend of powerful & melodic & it compliments their dark, dramatic ‘noir pop’ sound perfectly. The store was packed out with people eager to see them perform & I get the feeling that they are going to be absolutely huge come next year.
