Lily Kamper Ombre Necklaces, Metal Perspex Resin JeweleryLily Kamper Ombre Necklaces, Metal Perspex Resin JeweleryLily Kamper Ombre Necklace & Bracelet, Metal Perspex Resin Jewelery

All jewellery by Lily Kamper

I seem to be on a bit of a jewellery kick recently. I used to be one of those people who didn’t feel fully dressed without at least a necklace, a ring, a bracelet (or two) to accessorize my outfit, then a few months ago I found myself not wanting to wear any at all, it seemed so much cleaner & less fussy.

Now I seem to be falling in love with jewellery all over again, and Lily Kamper‘s hand-turned perspex & metal creations are one of the many reasons why. They are so unique, both quiet & yet statement making, with their unusual shapes & interesting mixture of materials. They seem both modern & ancient all at once, like relics from some long forgotten, advanced civilization.

The first 4 are my favourite pieces, I love the organic speckled stone-like look they have & the ombre effects are really beautiful. I also think the pieces that mix leather with the perspex, like the bracelet, are really eye catching too.

ASOS Revive Metallic Faux-Fur Dress / Bracher Emden Belt * / Topshop Laced Boots / Balenciaga City

Sorry if this is a little repetitive, but I just had to take some better photos of this dress I wore for the ‘Libertine’ launch party in my last post, and get some shots of the beautiful metallic faux-fur up close too.

It’s no secret I’m a huge fan of interesting textures, I think when you dress primarily in black it becomes much more important, as layering different kinds really helps to keep a monochrome outfit interesting in place of colours. So as you can imagine when I spied this on ASOS it went straight into my bag. I love the mixture of the leather back & sleeves with the fur front & that subtle bronze shimmer, the shift shape is really flattering too & gives it a slightly futuristic vibe. It’s so soft & fluffy, I think I ended up secretively stroking it most of the night!

I know I’m in danger of wearing this Bracher Emden belt too much & it losing it’s wow-factor, but I can’t help myself, the added punch it gives to any outfit is pretty addictive. Plus it seemed the perfect compliment to this dress, upping the sci-fi factor a little more. You know as far as I’m concerned the more something makes me feel like I’ve raided the costume chests of some of my favourite sci-fi movies, the more I like it!

On Monday we were invited down to The Ivy Club for the launch of Giles Deacon’s ‘Libertine’ jewellery range in collaboration with QVC. The venue was beautiful, with pieces from the collection arranged around the room draped inside birdcages sprinkled with gold flakes & Swarovski crystals. I loved this way of presenting the pieces, it made it feel as though you were peering into cages containing precious treasures, despite the fact that everything was under £50.

The rose stem hoops & the beetle bracelet were my favourites, I haven’t been able to get the hoops out of my mind since, I’m imagining them worn simply on their own with one of my draped dresses, clean & unfussy. It’s no surprise the simpler pieces stuck out to me though, as I’ve been finding myself suddenly craving more minimalistic jewellery after years of buying big statement pieces & piling it on.

Giles was also the perfect host, walking around chatting to guests about the collection & posing for photos. I wish I had been a bit braver & gone over, but I am always far too shy at these kind of things, I can barely mingle with other guests without feeling anxious, let alone a designer whos work I have long admired.

We didn’t think to take any outfit shots until after it had started to get dark, I always seem to do this when I go to events, I’m just too forgetful & so unorganized! The front of this shift from ASOS is actually the most beautiful bronze/black metallic faux fur & I feel like this shot really doesn’t do it justice at all. I think I’m going to try to re-shoot this as a full outfit post for Monday so you can all get a better look, as it’s one of my favourite recent buys. You all know how much I love a nice texture!
