After the manic week leading up to the launch of my store last Friday (shameless plug, 20% off everything ends Sunday!) this week I’ve taken it a little slower, working my way through emails, running errands & generally getting things back in order. Times like this always make me want to dress much more casually, I reach for cosy things like favourite hoodies, soft stretch jeans & comfy boots. Luxury basics like this perfect Helmut Lang tee & my fail safe draped leather jacket help keep it from feeling slobbish, or scruffy.

This OnePiece hoodie is a new addition to the collection, but it has already surpassed every single one of the others to become my favourite & it’s all down to the beautiful fabric. It’s the softest blend of rayon & cotton, it’s thin, slouchy and so comfy I never want to take it off, plus it has thumb-holes! I don’t know why, but that makes me extremely happy, thumb-holes somehow make everything seem a little snugglier. My only complaint is that I wish it were a true black, though now I’m looking back at these I do like the way the faded charcoal works with the rest of the outfit. It’s the same colour as my Nike Free Run’s too, so now I look all matching when I wear them both for a run!

Last week Thor & Wistle threw an intimate little party at their Shoreditch store to celebrate their 2nd birthday, with beer, and the most delicious burgers, plus a chance to browse the new collections, it was the perfect excuse for us to head down to finally check out the store & fawn over their beautiful wares, I wanted to take the whole place home!

Set up in 2012, the store is a collaborative project between Kamilla Thorsen and Rachel Entwistle, acting as both a studio for the pair & their respective brands, Dynasty & Rachel Entwistle Jewellery & also as a showcase for emerging talent stocking some of the best up & coming UK jewellery brands, including Kasun, Tessa Metcalfe & Ros Millar.

The store itself has a wonderful curiosity shop kind of feel – jewels draped over antlers, old fashioned display cabinets showcasing beetle & bone rings like scientific specimens, mounted butterflies & vintage mannequins, it sets the perfect atmosphere, perfectly complimenting the selection of brands and makes browsing a real treat, peering into the cases it feels as though you’re unearthing rare little trinkets from days gone by. I couldn’t recommend paying them a visit more.

FAIIINT Capsule Collection

FAIIINT Capsule collection clothing cropped draped leather jacket & asymmetric cotton dressFAIIINT capsule collection clothing twisted plaited silk dress & full gathered cotton maxi skirt

Those that follow me on Instagram & Twitter will have seen that for the past few months I’ve been working on getting a small collection ready. To have my own line is something I’d always dreamed of but never expected to actually happen and it’s something I really have to thank you guys for, because without this blog, it’s readers & the incredible love and support I’ve received from you I would never have had the opportunity or the courage to take such a leap of faith.

I’m equal parts excited & nervous to announce that finally after a few delays the store is now live! The first lot of clothing is online, and within the next month there will also be some jersey pieces added to these too, expect dresses, tops & skirts. Mostly it’s a more refined collection of what originally were personal one off pieces that have featured in my outfit posts that I’ve had a lot of requests for, the cropped leather jacket especially!

Shop the collection & check out the store here – I would love to know your opinions on everything, whether good or especially if bad, if there’s anything you think needs changing or problems you encounter, so please do let me know in the comments, via email or any of my social accounts. As my way of saying thankyou to you guys too, for the first week there will be 20% off everything with the code LAUNCH.

As an extra note, if you follow this blog by bookmarking it or similar the address will be changing to blog.faiiint.com (or faiiint.com/faiiint) as this will now redirect over to the shop, it should not make any difference if you follow using a reader, but do let me know if you find any issues & I’ll get them fixed straight away.

Everything’s better when the suns out, isn’t it? Though as someone who, surprisingly, tans quite easily I do spend most of the Summer slathered in SPF50 or skulking around in the shade in my attempt to stay pale. I only got this fedora last Autumn & until then I didn’t own any other hats except for beanies, so I’m only now appreciating how perfect it is for shading my face & shoulders on bright sunny days. I’ve had so many moments of ‘why didn’t I buy this sooner?’ with this hat, and that’s yet another one.

I brought a very similar dress to this one a few months ago, the Religion one that had been on my wishlist, and though that one is undoubtedly nicer & better quality it also has a lot more fabric & is quite heavy. I got this one as a more everyday version, it’s the exact same chiffon fabric & shape, just without the multiple layers, I only wish the neckline had been a little lower & more similar. Plus, being less than a quarter of the price, I wont mind so much when the hem of this one gets unavoidably trashed from dragging on the floor either!

My bare legs don’t often see the light of day, as you can tell from how almost grey they are from lack of sun, so you know it’s a really hot day when I have them out. The past few days have been gorgeously warm, sunny & with a nice breeze to stop the stickyness, the best kind of English summer weather & this shirt dress couldn’t have arrived at a better time. It’s light, airy & comfortable, whilst still looking smart & is perfect for throwing on super simply with barely anything else. If it wasn’t for the breeze I would definitely have worn this undone a little, but I’m a sucker for a buttoned up collar & the chiffon panels and weightless fabric made it so much more bearable.

Dorothy Perkins are currently running an amazing competition, launched yesterday one lucky winner will win a dress of their choice every single month for a whole year! To enter all you need to do is upload a selfie of yourself wearing a dress from Dorothy Perkins to either Twitter or Instagram between now & July 1st and tag it with the #DPDressSelfie hashtag, easy! Full entry info & terms can be found here.
