One downfall of having a wardrobe crammed with only black is that often pieces get kind of lost in there, all merging into one mass of black fabric. This Topshop skirt is a prime example, I brought it months ago & it’s only just seeing the light of day again now. It had been hiding, tags still attached until I went to get another skirt & it fell out of my wardrobe, leaving me perplexed as to how I’d forgotten about such a great piece. Texture is my go-to for keeping all black looks interesting & I also have a bit of a soft spot for scales, I couldn’t get this to the checkout fast enough with this, so I feel extra guilty for forgetting about it!

It’s been a while since I’ve worn so much jewellery in one go, but I’ve really been enjoying layering up necklaces recently, and this Cinderela B one I made myself at their workshop just before Christmas last year makes it super easy. I tend to go through phases with jewellery, not wanting to wear a single piece, to wearing sole delicate pieces & then buying lots and wanting to pile it all on at once. I feel like I’m getting to that point where you’ll see lots of new pieces popping up!

Indeed! that skirt is gorgeous! do not forget about it again!
I have the same thing with jewellery, sometimes I’m in for massive necklaces, then only earrings, then bracelets, sometimes nothing at all…

I absolutely love what you have done with tucking in the dress, such an amazing contrast of fabrics in this outfit!

Same here with jewellery…I don’t tend to wear lots all over. I will stack necklaces or rings, not usually at the same time xx

The skirt definitely adds interesting texture to the outfit, and I love the gold jewellery against the black. xx

Wow I am surprised to read that you totally spaced out on that skirt as it is definitely a stellar piece! :)
And I am impressed with how you tucked that dress in- such a gorgeous detail!

Ohhh that is one pretty lady! You know, you could look at it like Christmas! Something new to play with! That’s what I do when I rediscover pieces lost under mountains of crap lurking in Le Closet. Especially newness with tags still attached. That is like winning the lottery LOL!

I love what you did to the dress! Ingenious! Great drapes and plays wonderfully with the texture of the skirt. I’ll try that out with some of my dresses one of these days.

I’m a little bit in love with your skirt, I’m so glad you’ve rediscovered it and we’re getting to see it – it looks fabulous on. I have a soft spot for anything snake/crocodile print/textured, I think it’s one of those prints that some people love and some people hate, but I love it and you wear it so well. Your necklace looks lovely peeking out from under your jacket too, it’s very eye-catching and pretty xxx
