Sanctus SS15 ‘Water’ Collection

Launched in November 2012 by designer Lucinda Sinclair, Sanctus focuses on producing quality, handmade pieces in super limited edition runs. Every piece is handmade from start to finish by Lucinda in her London studio, with no more than 50 being made of each design, giving the pieces a real sense of luxurious rarity in todays crowded, mass produced market. These are pieces to be treasured, knowing that you own something special.

The latest SS15 collection draws inspiration from ancient Greek legends of Poseidon & the fabled lost city of Atlantis, translating this into beautifully organic silhouettes. Softly draped dresses in fluid silks hang effortlessly from the body amongst sporty leggings and braletts spliced with mesh, all adorned in Lucinda’s ethereal, inky undersea illustrations in aqueous blues & greens paired against crisp black & white. It feels both whimsical & fresh all at once.

Finally there’s a proper Autumn chill in the air & I can dig out my favourite jackets, coats & winter accessories again. It’s been a super mild Autumn until now & though of course I enjoy the weather more when it’s warmer, I feel completely in my element when dressing for the colder months & look forward to it every year, bring on the layering!

I brought so many great basics from H&M when I had my little online haul last month & this skirt is one of them. In the past I’ve thought the fabric choices have reflected the cheap prices, and I wasn’t a huge fan, however every piece I brought this time around has been really nice quality, this skirt is a very satisfyingly heavy viscose and the other pieces have been light cotton jerseys & modal. I hope this is a permanent change & not just luck, I will happily place a few more orders despite their atrocious delivery service if it is!

This is giving me a bit of a casual witchy vibe, and I kinda love it! I’ve been looking for a nice cape for months, and this one from Mango seems like a perfect choice, the voluminous a-line shape & hip length is perfect, wool blend and you really can’t argue with that price either. I currently have my eye on a vintage one on eBay though, so I’ll see how that goes first! I love the cape-like shape of OAK’s draped cardigan too, though for the price I’m not really sold on the material choice, I think this is something I’ll have to make a version of for myself instead.

It’s been a long time since I brought a pair of Shellys shoes, it’s a brand that reminds me of my teenage years & a few very unfortunate shoe choices too. Whilst browsing ASOS these lace up boots pretty much stopped me in my tracks & I was a little surprised to see the brand. Though I’m not super keen on the olive inners (I’d probably dye them!) they look far more expensive than they actually are & are just a bloody good pair of stompy boots & you know how much I love those!
