Slouch

FAIIINT slouch wishlist, Hunt no more tee, Wilt asymmetric jacket, Topshop coated jeans, MuuBaa shearling leather jacket, Carvela flat buckled boots, Bjorg v ring, Asya Malbershtein transformer bag

MuuBaa Shearling Leather Jacket / Carvela Buckled Boots / Bjorg ‘V’ Ring / Asya Malbershtein ‘Transformer’ Bag

The never-ending rain for the past week means I have been hiding inside pretty much all week, and haven’t ventured out for long enough to shoot today’s usual outfit post. I so wish I had a nice plain wall inside that I could use as a background when the weather’s like this – which is most of the time at the moment! Instead I thought I’d do an outfit collage of things I wish I was wearing to slouch around in on this miserable day.

I already own the Topshop coated jeans, they are one of my favourite pairs & the Carvela boots are currently on their way to me as well. It’s so hard to find a real good pair of flat boots, every time I order a pair I end up disappointed when they arrive & they get sent back, so I’m hoping these are a good fit & look as nice as the photos. I’m very picky about them though, so if you don’t see them around here soon, it’s safe to say they’ve been returned!

I’ve been meaning to get a new hoodie or casual jacket for a while now, and this one from Wilt ticks all the boxes, except for the fact it has no hood, but I do think the nice asymmetric collar makes up for that and it’s the perfect shade of washed black too. I want to layer it up under all of my leather jackets, with the unzipped collar peeking over. It’s making me crave this fuzzy shearling leather from MuuBaa too, to add extra texture & interest to otherwise super casual outfits.

Topshop Wool Trench Coat / Warehouse Neoprene Dress * / Bracher Emden Belt * / Rick Owens Wedges / Bracher Emden Classic Bag

I’ve been wanting to get my hands on a dress made from neoprene for a while now, but all of the styles out there seemed to have huge, voluminous skirts, and I wanted something more sleek & minimal. This one from Warehouse couldn’t be more perfect, the curved hem, high neck & fitted, sleeveless shape are such great little details & give it that subtle futuristic, mod-like feel. Of course I couldn’t resist adding an extra sci-fi touch with the huge statement belt! This is such a versatile, hardworking dress & I’m looking forward to wearing it more once the weather warms up, to properly show it off, and dressing it up for nights out too.

Considering how much I wear this coat, it doesn’t feature on here anywhere near enough. I’ve actually had it for around 5 years now, and it’s been my one winter coat for almost that entire time, not to mention worn everyday for dog walks & yet somehow it still looks barely worn. I didn’t need a new coat at the time, but I brought it on a whim in the Topshop sale, purely because it was so cheap. I would never have guessed that 5 years from now it would be one of the most worn, and favourite items that I own. It’ll be a sad day when I finally have to replace it.

The Only Son Cruise 2014

The Only Son Cruise 2014 Collection

The Only Son is a label I’ve come across a handful of times whilst online shopping, and though each time I was impressed with what I saw, I had never got around to looking into the brand further. I stumbled upon these images for the cruise 2014 lookbook a few days ago & was instantly spellbound, spending the best part of the rest of the day searching for where to get my hands on that perfect folded black dress.

The creation of Bangkok born Au Ekbutr Udomphol, The Only Son fuses minimal & utilitarian cuts with a distinctive youthful energy. Having previously designed for Ksubi, Sass & Bide and Imitation of Christ, it’s clear to see these influences on his own line, but with an added sharpness & structure.

I don’t think I even need to mention how beautiful these lookbook shots are, but I will, they’re making me pine for sticky summer days & super clean, fuss free outfits like these to beat the heat in.
