Lately I cannot get enough of Aussie designers, everything they produce just seems to ooze this laid back, effortless kind of charm & elegance, clothes that although intricately detailed & in super fine fabrics feel as though you can just throw them on.

Francis Leon is the latest Aussie designer crush to add to that list. The label produces the kind of clothes I image superheroines wear on their days off, a mixture of futuristic, graphic paneling, tight silhouettes & functional sportwear detailing, it’s laid back luxe at it’s best.

The SS13 lookbook has me hooked even further, it has this infectious sci-fi rock’n'roll kind of attitude about it, it makes me want to be that girl & want to own every piece, especially the jackets. My favourite is without a doubt the first jacket, it’s the perfect biker & the little flash of oxblood on the inner arms make it really special. It’s these little details that really make the collection stand out, the small ribbed inserts, the masterful mixing of textures & fabrics, subtle paneling & the beautiful fitted cuts, they’re the type of pieces that you’ll always find something new to love & wear to death because they make you feel so kick-ass.

AllSaints A.W 12 / COVET

Allsaints, Autumn, Winter, 2012, Lookbook, Opium Dress, Lena Blazer, Clara Jumper, Lucille Leather Skirt, Kubrick Clutch, BootsAllsaints, Autumn, Winter, 2012, Lookbook, Force Cardigan, Wasson Jumper Dress, Biker Trouser, Jules Boot, Biker Jacket, Navy, Blue, LeatherAllsaints, Autumn, Winter, 2012, Lookbook, Fur Shield Coat, Conical Tee, Biker Trouser, Widow Buckle Boot, Kubrick Clutch, Check Gaboury Parka, Roseport Ashby, Jules Biker Boot

With the weather getting colder, it’s really starting to feel like Autumn here & that leaves me longing to go shopping for a new A/W wardrobe to wrap up warm in. I always find myself browsing through my favourite brands lookbooks at this time of year, mentally making a list of all the pieces I’d like…

I’m sure you’re all aware I’m a little obsessed with AllSaints by now, and this seasons lookbook is no different, as usual I want every single piece! There’s plenty of what AllSaints do best, relaxed tailoring, innovative draping & every piece is infused with that effortless kind of cool the brand is known for.

This season I’m loving the prints that they have come up with, I’m not usually a print person but the opium dress with it’s mirrored poppy print has gone straight to the top of my wishlist, the subtle flashes of blood red against the black are just beautiful. I’ve also fallen totally in love with the check gaboury parka, again tartan print is something I’m not usually a fan of, but here draped so perfectly & contrasted with the leather sleeves it seems really luxe & the fact it’s in that shade of red I seem to be obsessed with recently is making me want it even more. I’m so glad they seem to be loving oxblood as much as I am this season!

My other favourite thing about this collection is the mixture of textures & the way they’re combined in one piece. As someone who wears a lot of black, pairing multiple different textures in an outfit has become my go to way of keeping things interesting, so pieces like the fur shield coat & the force cardigan with it’s contrasting leather sleeves are absolute dream pieces for me.

Unsurprisingly I also want almost every pair of shoes too, not that I need any more shoes & I definitely do not need any more black boots, but the jules boots are really tempting me, I’m in love with the harness detailing.

Boohoo Boutique / COVET

Boohoo Boutique, Dresses, Collection, Black, Gold, Dress, Jacket, Studded, Sequin, LookbookBoohoo Boutique, Dresses, Collection, Black, Gold, Dress, Jacket, Studded, Sequin, Floral, Print, Lace, LookbookBoohoo Boutique, Dresses, Collection, Black, Gold, Dress, Grey, Blue, Lace, Embroidery, Lookbook

I’ve brought a few things I’ve loved from Boohoo in the past, but never usually come across anything very ‘me’ on offer, I always think of it as very similar to ASOS’s own label, but with lower prices & a generally girlier selection of clothes. So I was quite pleasantly surprised to stumble across this lookbook & learn that it was for their new capsule collection. So surprised that I just had to share it, especially considering the prices!

Boohoo Boutique is the first capsule collection from the brand & aims to be the more grown up, luxury companion to the core collection, but most importantly without the luxury price tag. All of the pieces are limited edition & range from £20 for shirts to £75 for huge fluffy fur coats. I think they have done a surprisingly good job at creating a luxury collection considering the low price point & there are a lot of things I could easily see myself wearing here.

My favourite piece has to be the heavily embellished mesh tank top, I’m not sure I’d dare wear it braless, but I do love how delicate it looks worn without anything underneath. The gorgeous gold biker jacket, the maxi dress & the chiffon shirt with gold brocade trim are the other standout pieces for me. I’d be happy to give any of them a home in my wardrobe.

JW Anderson x Topshop / COVET

JW Anderson, Topshop, Collaboration, Designer, Highstreet, Grunge, Lookbook, Autumn, Winter, 2012,JW Anderson, Topshop, Collaboration, Designer, Highstreet, Grunge, Lookbook, Autumn, Winter, 2012,JW Anderson, Topshop, Collaboration, Designer, Highstreet, Grunge, Lookbook, Autumn, Winter, 2012,

I know most of you will have probably seen these lookbook images everywhere by now & I don’t really see this blog as somewhere to post about all the latest fashion news, but I am far too excited about this not to share it myself!

I’ve been a huge fan of JW Anderson since his first womenswear collection, so I was extremely excited to hear the rumors of his collaboration with Topshop. I’ve felt a bit ‘blah’ about most of the recent Topshop collaborations & I didn’t want to get my hopes up too much, but I can safely say that this one has easily exceeded my expectations. I want almost every piece here, but especially the sweaters & shirts.

I would wear quite a few of these looks head to toe (minus the plaid trousers!), if I could afford to buy that many pieces, something which I rarely find myself saying about Topshop’s lookbooks. However looking past the brilliant styling, all of the items are classic wardrobe staples that could easily fit into most wardrobes. The chunky knit sweaters, stripes, oversized shirts & crisply tailored jackets are exactly the kind of things I buy over & over again. They’re chameleon pieces that can be worked into almost any style or look, seasonless & immune to changes in trends, the perfect investment pieces.

I love the grungey styling & look of the images nearly as much as I love the clothes, if not more. We all know I have a soft spot for grunge, but it’s so good, it’s almost convincing me that I need a pair of plaid trousers that I know I’d never wear… Oh, and some roller skates…

Dion Lee ‘Line II’ SS12 / COVET

The weather here is still awful but I just can’t get Dion Lee’s ‘Line II’ Spring Summer lookbook out of my head. I’m a huge fan of his, but this is just my perfect Summer wardrobe & it has me dreaming, praying for warmer days…

The relaxed tailoring & slouchy silhouettes pared with the neutral + black colour palette are so me it hurts, I want almost every piece. Luckily, being the diffusion line prices are quite a bit more affordable than the main collection, whilst still retaining that strong Dion Lee signature look. My favourites are the first two dresses, plus the white shirt outfit, they nail that relaxed yet sexy look with their mix of structure, draping & peekaboo details. Aussie designers seem to do this type of dressing so well, I find myself being really drawn to their cool, laid-back aesthetic recently, I can’t get enough of it, it’s like the best of NY, London & Paris all rolled into one.

Three Floor Fashion / SHOPPING

Three Floor Fashion, Lookbook, GrungeThree Floor Fashion, Lookbook, GrungeThree Floor Fashion, Lookbook, GrungeThree Floor Fashion, Lookbook, GrungeThree Floor Fashion, Lookbook, Grunge

Three Floor Fashion was launched in November 2011 by recent Central St Martins alumni Han Chong, the philosophy of the brand is simple, high quality, fashion forward pieces at an extremely affordable price. It has become one of my favorite destinations for online shopping recently, none of the pieces are over £150, which for the quality of design & manufacture I think is a very reasonable price, though, this makes it super easy to get carried away putting things in your basket! I usually find with brands that try to do this type of thing, that the lookbook is styled so well that it gives the impression that the garments are of high quality, but once they arrive they are quite disappointing & you understand why they were so cheap. This is where Three Floor Fashion differs, the clothes are exactly what it says on the tin.

I could see myself wearing almost every piece from the collection, thanks to the lookbook though, the pieces I most want are the amazing hardware headband & chunky cuff, which sadly are not available, or are possibly by a different, unknown brand & most likely not for such a reasonable price!
